Where We Work
Our offices are located in The Charles H. Fisk House, a landmark in Covington's Old Seminary Square. Old Seminary Square is listed as a Historic District in the U.S. Park Service's National Register of Historic Places.
The Fisk House was built in 1865 when the Western Baptist Theological Seminary (for which the neighborhood is named) was disbanded in an internal conflict over the slavery issue. The lands of the seminary were subdivided and sold off as building lots. The lot at the Northwest Corner of Robbins and Russell Streets was purchased by Charles H. Fisk and his wife, Elizabeth. The home they built there is majestic, attracting praise from passers-by to local history buffs alike.
Bob Sanders and his wife Shirley bought the Fisk House in the early 1970s for approximately $17,000. They made it their family home, and raised three children -- Robby, Maria, and Justin -- there until moving to Fort Mitchell, Kentucky in 1988. After a couple years of extensive renovation and meticulous historical restoration, Bob fulfilled his own dream and moved The Sanders Law Firm to the Fisk House. It is a comfortable and simply wondrous place to work.
