Overview

Life-altering spine and spinal cord injuries can result from vehicle wrecks, dangerous products, falls, and other accidents. Bob Sanders and his team at The Sanders Law Firm are experts in evaluating how these injuries occurred, whom to hold responsible, and how to get the money the victim deserves.  They will work tirelessly to obtain enough money to meet the immediate needs of the spinal injury victim, and to care for the victim and his or her family over the long term.

Effects of Spine and Spinal Cord Injuries

When an accident victim suffers a serious, permanent spinal cord injury, he or she is usually paralyzed from the level of the injury downward.  For example, if someone suffers a thoracic-level (chest level) injury at T4-5, he or she is likely to be paraplegic -- unable to stand, walk, or otherwise use his or her legs.  (S)he will rely on a wheelchair but be able to use her or his arms.  If, however, the spinal cord is functionally separated at the cervical (neck) level, he or she may be rendered quadriplegic – paralyzed from the neck, down, and unable to use his or her arms or legs.

Some spinal cord injuries may affect one side of the body but not the other.  Some result in total loss of the use of the arms and/or legs, while other injuries may leave the victim with partial use of her/his limbs.  Obviously, the facilities, supplies, services, and equipment needed to care for a spinal cord injury victim vary depending on the level and severity of the injury and the extent to which the use of the victim’s arms and legs is impaired.

Restoring Quality of Life to You and Your Family

At this point in time, medical science cannot “cure” a serious spinal cord injury, so no amount of money can make the problems disappear.  With enough money, however, a lot can be done to restore substantial quality to the victim’s life.  Money can buy power wheelchairs, accessible vans, power lifts for transfers, assistive care, and build an “accessible” home to accommodate the victim’s limitations.

If you or a loved one suffers a serious spinal cord injury, call us to determine whether we can help you recover money to restore mobility, independence, meaning, and dignity to your life or your loved one’s life.  We have helped many spinal cord injury victims.  We know how to recover the money and what to do with it to make the best life possible for the injury victim and her or his family.
